  Assistant engineer for the research and construction of seismological stations of the RESIF project

• Contract: Fixed term contract of 9 months (possible extension of 6 months) - Monthly net salary between 1500 and 1900 € depending on the level and experience of the candidate.

 

• Mission: the recruited person will work full-time on the RESIF-CLB project and will be responsible for:

  • Conduct the preliminary studies and define the construction work to be carried out within the framework of the construction of the permanent seismological stations as well as the associated financial estimate;
  • Manage and follow the realization of small construction sites in terms of duration and cost (all trades work);
  • Plan, organize, control and accept the work of the various stakeholders (boreholes, electrical and telecom supplies, small masonry works);
  • Check compliance with safety regulations during interventions;
  • Keep up to date the documents concerning the works to be performed, the subsequent interventions and the construction drawings;
  • Participate in the identification of potential future permanent seismic station sites and in the various phases of testing and validation;
  • Participate in technical discussions with DT-INSU (Technical Direction of the National Institute of Sciences of the Universe) to ensure compliance of site construction with RESIF-CORE project requirements;
  • Participate in the process of obtaining agreements and authorizations between the various actors involved in the implementation of seismological stations (drafting or monitoring).

 

The recruited person will work under the responsibility of the RESIF-CLB Scientific and Technical Correspondents at IPGP and will be supported by all IPGP staff involved in RESIF-CLB. He/she will interact regularly with the national project manager and other technical teams involved in the project. A very high mobility, essentially metropolitan, is required. Some sites may require 5-day missions to a maximum distance of 400 km from Paris.
