The laboratory ‘Inclusions’ is dedicated to the study of melt droplets entrapped in crystals and are preserved as glass upon rapid cooling in explosive volcanic products. These melt inclusions allow us to determine the P-T conditions of crystallization, to assess the depths of ponding and to track the geochemistry of the magma and of its associated gas phase from earth’s mantle to surface.
