The Teaching Department belongs to a cluster of internationally renowned institutions: IPGP, École Normale Superieure, Université Paris-Diderot and École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris. Students can attend courses and do research in all these institutions and build their own education and career paths.

The Teaching Department proposes 2 Master programs in Earth Sciences and 7 specializations.

 

Courses taught entirely in english

Master EARTH and PLANETARY SCIENCES, ENVIRONMENT (STPE)

  • Specialization Geophysics

             - Major Exploration geophysics (only 2nd year of Master program - M2)

  • Specialization Geophysics*
  • Specialization Geochemistry, Geobiology, Geomaterials and Environment*

* A new Master's degree program entirely taught in english will be proposed in September 2016. This Master program includes courses in geophysics, geochemistry and geology. 

 

Courses taught partially in french and english

Master EARTH and PLANETARY SCIENCES, ENVIRONMENT (STPE)

  • Specialization Geophysics

             - Major Solid Earth

  • Specialization Geochemistry, Geobiology, Geomaterials and Environment
  • Specialization Geology and GeoEnergy

 

Courses taught entirely in french

Master program in GEORESOURCES, GEOHAZARDS, GEOTECHNICS (GEO3)

  • Specialization Telluric natural hazards
  • Specialization Surface and subsurface geophysics (part-time training with professional training contract)

 

Master EARTH and PLANETARY SCIENCES, ENVIRONMENT (STPE)

  • Specialization Environmental and Industrial Engineering (part-time training with apprenticeship contract)
  • Specialization Remote Sensing and Space Engineering

- Major Global Navigation Satellite Systems

- Major Physical Fundamentals in Remote Sensing

 

The objectives for the Master's programs are:

  • Provide a high level training in Geosciences
  • Propose a modern education in which the quantitative aspect and the observational aspect are still strongly linked.
  • Benefit the quality, richness and diversity theme of research of the IPGP (160 research professors and researchers, 130 PhD students) and ENS teams (25 research professors and researchers).
  • Give a strong training allowing students to find and carry trades attractive, in France or abroad, in the industrial or academic world.
