We are seeking one young researcher interested in volcanic records of geomagnetic reversals with a special interest for magnetization processes and magnetic properties of lava flows. Applicants will normally have a field of expertise in rock magnetism and paleomagnetism. Preference will also be given to candidates with training and competences in argon-argon and potassium-argon dating.
The successful candidate is expected to perform research independently as well as in collaboration with other group members. This includes also supervising students and technical staff. He/she will be in charge of conducting sampling trips and occasionally will have to stay for several weeks on the field.
Starting date is September 2016 for a one year period and is renewable up to a total of 3 years within the framework of an ERC grant. Gross salary 2500-3000€ depending on experience.
