Massive stars show strong stellar radiation and energetic winds which can highly influence the close surrounding environment. It is thought that they can trigger star formation in the close interstellar medium (ISM), through compression and ionization of the gas. I will show the results of our studies of the surroundings of seven high-mass X-ray binaries hosting supergiant stars where we searched for signatures of interaction between the binary and the ISM. I will analyze the influence of these binaries in the close vicinity.
