Studying the origin of volatile elements by coupling Zn and Sn isotope geochemistry
Encadrant (et co-encadrant) :
Résumé:
The origin of volatile elements in planetary bodies is currently unclear - different bodies such as the Earth, the moon, Mars etc. all record varying levels of depletion in volatile elements compared to primitive meteorites. Studying the isotopes of these elements will help to distinguish between isotopic fractionation as a result of evaporation/partial-condesation and igneous processes. Thereby, helping to understand the volatile element depletions in different bodies and their origin.
