Maud's research focuses on today's environmental issues, with an emphasis on risks and disasters. She is particularly interested in the role of science in the making of public decisions. The originality of her profile is to have a double background in ‘earth sciences' and in 'human sciences’.
At the University of Paris, she belongs to the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris and to the Institut Humanités Sciences Sociétés. She is also a member of the executive board of the Centre des politiques de la Terre and a member of the scientific committee of the Collège international des sciences territoriales. She teaches undergraduate, master's and doctoral students in the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Societies and Humanities.
