Overview
The MOMAR (“Monitoring the Mid-Atlantic Ridge”) project was initiated by the international InterRidge Programme, to study active mid-ocean ridge processes along a slow-spreading ridge section (see Workshop reports for goals and other information). Multidisciplinary studies have already started to follow up the long-term evolution of hydrothermal environments at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) near the Azores (35°N to 40°N).

For planning purposes, the list of instruments at the seafloor in the Lucky strike area (updated 8 June 2008) is available as an Excel file (LuckyStrike.xls), and on the maps below (map pdf linked to images). An Arc GIS file for the MoMAR region, Lucky Strike and Rainbow is also available as a zipped file for download here (GISMoMAR_081009.zip, 1.06 Gb), as well as a brief readme file with the data structure and relevqnt informqtion (ReadMe.doc). The files include vehicle tracks, arkers, vents, instruments at the seafloor, samples, and other information. This is updated as of 9th Oct 2008 (Jeremy Renard,  Jeremy.Renard@ensg.eu & J. Escartin, escartin@ipgp.jussieu.fr). Additionnal data and associated metadata can be contributed and will be included in future updates.
