Current Activities

Research interests

• Geomagnetic secular variation and Earth's core magnetic field: magnetic diffusion within the core, geomagnetic jerks, North magnetic pole drift, global core field modeling (IGRF), core flows.
• Ionospheric magnetic fields: global modeling of the Sq field and equatorial electrojet, long-term variability of the Sq field, space weather applications.
• Magnetic observatories and satellites: data processing techniques, instruments.

Observatory responsibilities

• Director of IPGP's Magnetic Observatories
• Executive Director of the Bureau Central du Magnétisme Terrestre
• Member of the Executive Council of INTERMAGNET
• Co-chair of IAGA Working Group V-OBS

Space projects

• Scientist in charge of the Dedicated Ionospheric field Inversion, ESA project "Development of the Swarm Level 2 Algorithms and Associated Level 2 Processing Facility"
• Member of the scientific team in charge of the CNES Absolute Scalar Magnetometer (ASM) on the ESA Earth Explorer Mission Swarm
