To bring together the heads of European OBS parks and seismologists from countries without OBS parks, to discuss scientific needs and practical issues of making OBSs more available and visible to the seismological community.

The workshop will include presentations and discussions of ways to improve instruments, standardize the data we output, and ease the request processes for OBSs and ships.  We will discuss how to coordinate between different parks in order to offer solutions for "pan-European" projects.  We will discuss both active and passive seismological experiments and will set up a roadmap for future organizational and technical meetings.

The workshop is sponsored by ORFEUS, with whom we have written a White Paper on the use of OBSs for amphibious passive seismological experiments.  We will use the points of this paper as a starting point for our discussions.
