My name is Claudio Satriano.
I'm Assistant Professor (Physicien Adjoint) at the
Institut de Physique du Globe de
Paris (IPGP).
My research focuses on understanding the dynamics of tectonic and
volcanic systems through seismic observations.
My work revolves around two main axes: the construction and
analysis of seismicity catalogs, providing insights into the
structure, mechanical properties, and dynamic processes of Earth
systems; and the study of seismic rupture mechanisms, examining
the links between rupture complexity, seismic radiation, and fault
system behavior.
I develop rigorous methodologies to detect and analyze seismic
signals, enabling me to build detailed seismicity catalogs,
identify unconventional seismic events such as tremors or
low-frequency earthquakes, characterize seismic source parameters,
and map fault displacement to explore rupture complexity.
Committed to openness and reproducibility, most of the analysis
codes I develop are freely available and designed to be adaptable
across different seismic contexts.
