I often receive e-mails from
students asking if I would accept to become their
Thesis Advisor. In my long
scientific career I have been advisor of many thesis, and all these
students have now good positions at some prestigious universities -or
occupy good positions at different companies-, so the question makes
sense.
Unfortunately, to write my last book (
Elements for Physics), I decided to
momentarily stop taking the responsibility of the research made by
young people. The book is now on the bookshelves, and I have started
taking students again.
Some students have a grant. Other students need financial help.
At
this moment, I do not have the funding that would allow me to support a
PH.D. candidate. I am trying to convince the president of the
University of Paris VI (Université Pierre et Marie Curie) to
allow me to supervise students over the Internet. The only requirement
from your side would be (wherever you may physically be) is to have a
broadband internet connection, a webcam, and a software (like
Apple's iChat) allowing regular video-conferencing. If this
may be of interest to you, please, send me an
e-mail.
