An explosive eruption perturbs lithosphere, atmosphere, and ionosphere. Those are observed by seismometers, barometers, and a disturbance of Total Electric Contents measured by Global Navigation Satellite System. Here we take an example of the 2015 Kuchinoerabu-jima volcano, southwest Japan, to show how we can understand the mechanics of the eruption from these observations.
