this page is better seen with Firefox under Mac OSX...

    Welcome to PaleoMac

PaleoMac is a (laboratory) Mac OS 9 - Classic - application written by Jean-Pascal Cogné (Jean-Pascal passed away in 2017) for treating paleomagnetic data (demagnetizations, paleointensity, magnetostratigraphy, anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility...) and making plate reconstructions on the Earth. This application has not been ported to Mac OS X. Meanwhile, please have a look at the following...

But.... what is PaleoMac? PaleoMac is a (laboratory) Mac OS 9 - Classic - application I have written for treating paleomagnetic data (demagnetizations, paleointensity, magnetostratigraphy, anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility...) and making plate reconstructions on the Earth. This application is not yet ported to Mac OS X, but one can always believe in the future.... :o) Meanwhile, please have a look at the following...

PaleoMac, Mac OSX with Intel Mac's, and Windows XP on PC's... a solution: SheepShaver

PaleoMac is a poor old Mac OS9 application... It used to run under the Classic run-time environment of OS X, until Mac Intel processors appeared... and now, no more Classic..!

So what ?

Fortunately, the free world proposes a solution named SheepShaver, thanks to Gwenole Beauchesne. SheepShaver is an Open Source PowerPC MacOS run-time environment, which runs MacOS 7.5.2 thru MacOS 9.0.4 on the following platforms: Linux (i386, ppc, x86_64), MacOS X (i386, ppc), Darwin, NetBSD 2.0, FreeBSD 5.3 and Windows for x86.
