If you use the install.bat, the nmx/user will be copied to backup.  If you do it twice, you will lose the contents of nmx/user.  
It is better to copy the user dir to nmx/user and bin dir to nmx/bin except for the mail.jar.
The file readme.txt in /bin has instructions on what to do with the mail.jar file.
