Differentiated terrestrial planets have experienced at least one early global magma ocean episode. During this stage, it is widely accepted that the dissolved volatiles are almost instantaneously outgassed to contribute to the genesis of planetary atmospheres. I will present the results of numerical experiments we conducted to test for the first time this classical hypothesis, along with their implications on the evolution of terrestrial planets and of their atmospheres.
