Seismicity and 3-D velocity structure of the Central (Kumaon-Garhwal) Himalaya

We present initial result from a seismic experiment with 50 broadband seismographs operated during April 2005 and June 2008 in the Kumaon-Garhwal Himalaya, Ganga basin and Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). During the period we recorded over 1100 local earthquakes and 200 distant earthquakes. This data is used to generate a reference velocity model, map the seismicity pattern, Earthquake mechanics, 3-D crustal velocity image. I will be discussing the salient features of the results.
