Geochemical observations reveal the chemically and isotopically heterogeneous nature of Hawaiian lavas, yet their interpretation is highly controversial. Our recent work aims to fill the gap between the numerous geochemical studies and the paucity of dynamical models able to relate the observed geochemical record to the internal plume structure and dynamics.
