Mt. Etna has been the site of a paroxysmal sequence made up of 62 episodes of lava fountaining events between December 2020 and February 2022. In this work a multidisciplinary study has been conducted combining volcanic tremor RMS amplitude and tilt deformation data analysis along with petrological and geochemical data retrieved for each lava fountain episode. Geophysical data produced two categories of results: one related to the magnitude of events revealed by the peak of tremor RMS amplitude, the amount of deflation associated with lava fountain events and the inflations registered during eruptive pauses; the other one quantified the evolution velocity of both the fountaining activity and intra-events inflations. The whole rock and glass chemistry data display different evolutive trends during the entire eruptive period, giving information about magma transfers of more primitive magma and a diffusion modelling approach provided the timescales of these processes. The integration of geophysical and geochemical data allowed to identify differences among the paroxysmal episodes observed at Mt. Etna during the 2020-2022 sequence, also inferring some of the magmatic processes and magma transfers dynamics.
