Christos Ntinos

Dr. Christos Ntinos is a mechanical engineer and planetary scientist focusing on the study through remote sensing of the surfaces of icy moons of the outer solar system, specifically of Jupiter and Saturn. He obtained his diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, where he specialized in aeronautical engineering completing his thesis in on-orbit satellite servicing using robotic manipulators. He then carried out a one-year interdisciplinary Master in Space Science (MSS) in the International Space University (ISU) in Strasbourg, France, during which he spent six months as an intern in the Science Operation Centre (SOC) for the ESA JUICE mission at the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Madrid, Spain. He completed his PhD in the Institut de physique du globe de Paris (IPGP), Paris, France, on the “Development of super-resolution mapping methods for icy moons: Application on Enceladus, in preparation for future observations by the ESA JUICE mission”. Since 2022 he has been an active next-generation member of the JUICE MAJIS WG2, participating in the technical and scientific meetings in preparation for the JUICE MAJIS observations in the Jupiter system.
