Le thème central de mes recherches est l'étude des circulations de fluides (magmas, fluides hydrothermaux) en domaine volcanique à partir de leur signature géophysique de surface. L'originalité de la démarche vient d'une approche multidisciplinaire intégrant à la fois l'analyse de terrain, l'analyse des données géophysiques enregistrées en surface et la modélisation numérique. Cette démarche vise à mieux caractériser et comprendre la circulation des fluides et leur stockages dans les édifices volcaniques, en allant de la circulation des magmas, des profondeurs à la surface, à la circulation des fluides hydrothermaux. La compréhension de ces circulations est primordiale dans l’optique de mieux comprendre le fonctionnement et l’évolution des systèmes volcaniques, et ainsi mieux appréhender les risques volcaniques associés. Il s’agit notamment d’identifier le rôle que peut jouer le système hydrothermal sur l’activité des édifices volcaniques (activité sismique, déformations de surface, déclenchement des éruptions, déstabilisations, ...). Mes travaux de recherche s’articulent ainsi autour de trois thèmes principaux :
- la caractérisation et la modélisation des transferts et stockages magmatiques à partir de l’analyse et de la modélisation des déformations de surface ;
- le suivi et la caractérisation des circulations hydrothermales en domaine volcanique à partir notamment de leurs signatures géophysiques (polarisation spontanée, résistivité électrique) et thermiques de surface ;
- l’étude de l’influence des systèmes hydrothermaux sur l’activité des édifices volcaniques.
