Faced with the contemporary challenges threatening academic freedom, research funding and the dissemination of knowledge, the scientific community is mobilising through the Stand Up For Science initiative. Inspired by the American movement, this national event will bring together researchers, students and the general public to highlight the essential role of science in our societies.

The IPGP is taking part in this day to promote rigorous, independent research, which is the guarantor of our collective future. At a time when scientific facts are being called into question, disinformation is being spread and funding is being cut, all of which are jeopardising research. The aim of this campaign is to remind people that science is a fundamental pillar of democracy and progress.
