The Institut océanographique’s thesis prize is awarded each year to a young researcher for thesis work carried out in a French laboratory in a field related to the sea or the ocean, and for publications based on this work.

Thibaut Barreyre’s thesis focused on heat loss from the Earth at the axis of ocean ridges.

He will receive his prize at the Maison des Océans in Paris.
